PIONEER CEMETERY
Overton, Nevada

This cemetery was established by Mormon Pioneers in September of 1865 with it's first burial of Lucinda Cox, a two year old that drowned in the Muddy River. This cemetery is located south of the Overton Airport "Perkins Field" on Pioneer Hill. It has 46 obvious unmarked graves. The cemetery is in good condition and is well maintained by the community. Many of the graves are covered with a cement encasement where at times the names of the individuals buried there are scratched into the cement. Information contained within parens "()"is added from the author's knowledge. Some dates were years only and have been filled in from the Social Security records where indicated. Please read the comments as there are some discrepencies between some headstones and the mortuary markers.

The first survey was conducted by Carl West in 1925 including a map. It was updated several times by Luke Banister, then it was taken over by Clark County.
