    COLORADO
The Colorado USGenWeb Archives has embarked on a project to collect photographs of tombstones in Colorado Cemeteries. The goal is to have an on-line text transcription of Colorado cemetery records and headstones via the Colorado Tombstone Project plus photographs of the headstones via the Colorado Tombstone Photo Project.

We are not asking that you adopt a Colorado cemetery, buy a digital camera and photograph every tombstone, although that would be nice . We are simply asking that you share the photos you already have of headstones that you have taken in Colorado cemeteries during the course of your research.

We need "sharp, tightly cropped" photos of headstones taken close enough to read the engraved text instead of general area or family plot cemetery photographs. The project goal is to document the information on the grave markers so researchers who can't visit the cemetery themselves have a "first generation" source for their kin's grave marker in addition to the volunteer text transcriptions.

Subscribers with headstone photos to donate please contact me directly for submission details.
