Robert
    A. Graves
    Lot 198 SE Corner 5th Walk, Ave B between 4th &
    5th streets

Died September the 20th, 1855 ,
    After a short illness
    ROBERT A. GRAVES
    Aged 36 years.
Though he fell a victim to that dreadful pestilence, yet he suffered no
    pain
and felt no terror. But with sweet submission to the divine will and in
humble hope of eternal life in Christ, he gently breathed his spirit
out to God and left his body to sleep until the morning of the Resurrection.
His last words on the subject of religion was, "my only trust is in God,
    though
he may slay me, yet do I put my trust in Him. He was a kind loving husband

and father and beloved by all who knew him. Thou art gone to the grave,
we no longer behold thee, nor tread the rough paths of this world by thy side,
but the wide arms of mercy are spread to enfold thee and death
has no sting, for the Saviour has died.
