Colonial Beach Hotel

A landmark for many years. Built around the turn of the twentieth century and torn down in 1984.

Contributed by Paula Lucy Delosh

The once busy harbor of Leedstown, was a busy port by the late 1600s, and was the arrival point of many early VA. emigrants. Here, the "Leedstown Resolutions" were drawn up, the first example of colonial sentiment against the Stamp Act. Today there is no trace of the town.
