Home of Major William Thomas Sutherlin,owned the home from 1856-till his death in July 1893. Sutherlin was a Major in the Quartermaster of C.S.A.,and served till the end of the war. Farmer and tobacconist, son of George S.and Mary Norman Sutherlin. From 1893-1937 it was the Danville Public Library.

Stillhouse Creek, 100 years after the wreck. The trestle was removed in the 1930's and would have been in the upper right. The location is in the jungle between the Riverside Cotton Mill buildings and Rt 58 near the Dan River.
