WILL OF REBECCA LANE

    In the name of God Amen I Rebecca Lane of Providence Township in the County of Montgomery State of Pennsylvania, widow Being in perfect health of Body and of sound mind and memory ......
    I give and bequeath [of my worldly estate] in the following manner to wit:

    I give all my property and estate whatsoever unto my four Daughters Sarah Fox, Elizabeth Shannon, Rebeckah Pawling, and Mary Shannon to be equally divided between them except the following legacies viz:

    Unto my beloved Grand Daughter Rebeckah McFarland I give one Silver Table Spoon and 50 pounds to be taken out of her Mother's Share.

            And to my Grand Daughter Rebeckah Fox I give and bequeath my best suit of Bed Curtains

    And to my Grand Daughter Rebeckah Pawling I give and bequeath my six Silver Tea Spoons and Silver Tea Tongs and Ten pounds to be taken out of her Mother's Share and put to Interest when said child Rebeckah Pawling arrives at the age of fifteen years.   If said child should die before she arrives at the age of fifteen years It is my will that her Mother Rebeckah Pawling should have the Tea Spoons and Tea Tongs and ten pounds.  Rebeckah Pawling to have the Tea Spoons and Tea Tongs and Ten pounds in keeping for aforesaid Daughter untill she arrive at the aforementioned age of fifteen years.

    I likewise give unto my beloved daughter Rebeckah Pawling over and above her Share one Silver Table Spoon.

    And to my aforementioned Grand Daughter Rebeckah Fox I give my Silver Shoe buckles.

    I likewise have a Book Account against my Old black Servant Minney under ten pounds.  It is my will that my Executor shall make that account to ten pounds out of my property and give same to Minney, and likewise to take twenty pounds of my estate and put the same to Interest and Minney to receive the Interest Yearly as long as she shall live and after Minney's death the said twenty pounds to be equally divided amongst my four (mentioned) daughters.
    But if either or all of my Daughters should die before Minney's death each daughters Children to Receive and Equally divide their Mothers share.

    I give unto my daughter Mary Shannon one feather bed over and above her share or fourth Part.  And whereas my son in law John Shannon in Indebted to me upwards of three hundred pounds.   It is my will that out of his bonds or money due from him that his wife, my daughter Mary's share shall be paid and out of no other.

    And lastly I do nominate constitute and Appoint my son in law James Shannon to be my Executor of this my last Will hereby Revoking all other wills Legacies and bequests by me heretofore made declaring this to be my last will and Testament.   In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal the thirteenth day of August One thousand Eight hundred and two- Signed Sealed Published pronounced and declared by the said Testator to be her last will and Testament in the presence of us who in her presence and at her request have subscribed as witnesses:
    Andrew Todd   Moses Rambo                  Rebecca Lane   (Seal)

    Montgomery County fs   Personally appeared Andrew Todd Esquire and on his Solemn Oath did depose and say that he was personally present and did see Moses Rambo one of the Subscribing witnesses to the foregoing will sign his name as a witness thereto at the request of the testator and in his presence July 6th, 1808.... Also Andrew Todd on his Oath did say that he saw Rebeckah Lane the Testatrix in the foregoing will sign and seal and heard her pronounce and declare the same to be her last will and Testament and at the same time she was of a perfect sound disposing mind Memory and understanding to the best of his knowledge that he subscribed his name as a witness thereto at the request of the Testatrix in her presence and in the presence of Moses Rambo the other subscribing witness..... Be it remembered that on the 6th day of July 1808 the foregoing will of Rebecca Lane was proved in Due form of law and Letters Testamentory granted to James Shannon the Executor therein named he having first sworn will and truly to perform the same and render an account According to Law.
    Given under my hand and Seal of Office and Registered the 6th day of July, 1808
