The listing of Sharp interments in the records held by the Freeport Library allow for this stone to be identified. George's date of death is given as May 9, 1887 in the records. His mother, Anna E, age 36, was working as a milliner while she lived with her sister, Mary Sheldon. Freeport cemetery records indicate that Harry died on April 14, 1899. Sheldon, Mary, (view 2), Section D, plot 57. Sheldon name on reverse of Hahn monument. No record for Mary Sheldon exists in the Freeport records. Mary Sheldon appears in the 1860 Freeport census, age 32, which states that she was born in Ireland. She also appears in the 1880 census, age 53, working as a seamstress. Spiker, Daniel Christopher, 1827 - 1905. Section D, plot 18. This illegible stone was tracked to Daniel Christopher Spiker, a Civil War veteran from Harrison Twp, Allegheny County PA. Freeport records show that he was born in 1831 but the 1900 census states he was born in September of 1829. He lived in Fawn Township in 1860 with wife Phoebe Jane Hathaway and son Henry, then joined Co H of the 6th Regiment, Heavy Artillery, of the Union Army (the 212th Volunteers). Discharged on June 13, 1865, he returned to Harrison Twp and worked as a coal miner. Families trees on Ancestry list 4 known children, Henry, Edward, Nancy and Laura Charlotte. He died on March 18, 1915 according to records. Also in the plot is a Barbara Spiker, who may be his mother, Barbara Youngkins Spiker, born around 1800. (contributed by Diane Nichols)

Torbett, Henry W, (view 2), (view 3), (view 4), 1840 - 1871, Lieut. H W , 11th US [Inf], Formerly Lt. Col. 78th PA Vol -----, Died at Freeport, June 8th 1871. Section B, plot 15. Henry W. Torbett was the son of James D. Torbett and enlisted in Co F of the 78th Infantry on October 9, 1861 at the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. He was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel by 1865. The 78th fought at the battles of Murfreesboro, Chickamauga and Chattanooga. He was mustered out at Nashville on September 11, 1865. He married Mary B McCulloch, also wife of W J Cook. Little information is available for him beyond his military file. (contributed by Diane Nichols)

Samuel's individual stone is difficult to read as the letters and numbers are worn near the base of the stone.
