Mary Gish Hordan Stephens, b. 10 July 1802 in VA, d. 29 Sept. 1872 My great-great grandmother & Great-great nieces were the actresses Dorothy & Lillian Gish. Mary is dau. of John & Mary Wagner Gish, born in PA. Married 1st. to William Jordan, May 5th 1820. William died in 1837, she then married Rev. John Stephens, a Methodist preacher. He was a descendant of Daniel Boone.
Rev. John Stephens, b. abt. 1786, d. 14 Sept. 1878 -Our Father- He was second husband of Mary Gish Jordan. Methodist preacher, direct descendant of Daniel Boone, a poor man, but it is said he was a kind and understanding man to Mary's children.
