Travel South out of town on route 164 towards Amsterdam, You will cross a bridge at the edge of town. On your right will be a tumble down brick home that is the Historical site where Morgan set up headquarters on his raid into Ohio during the Civil War. (Town was then called Nebo) Proceed along the road past a large white house with colums on the front (It will be on your right) until it splits with a lower portion that goes toward Amsterdam (bear to the left) and another portion known locally as the Creek Road gently turns right. Follow the road towards the right, very soon after the split the road splits again and proceeds sharply up over a hill toward the right. Go up over the hill. There is an old Bar at the base of the hill on the left side of the road. There's a house on the right side of the road. Soon after you start up the hill there is a cemetery. This is Bergholz Cemetery. Proceed on beyond this for couple of miles. At the top of a hill or ridge there is a small clapboard church on your left. This is Chestnut Ridge Church, the cemetery is adjacent to the church. Additional inscription information was received from Ross McClain on 27 April 2003 and forwarded by the kindness of Janet Vanstrom. This additional information will be noted by the [*] mark.

Cemetery & See view of ~church~, both established 1848 & still in use.
