| Logandale was first settled in 1864 by Latter-Day
Saints (LDS) and named St. Joseph. In 1881 another group of Mormons migrated to the area and the town was renamed Logan after the principal settlers of the new community. One of the prominent settlers at that time was Robert Logan. In 1917, the town was renamed Logandale to avoid confusion with Logan, Utah. Logandale is about 55 miles northeast of Las Vegas and about 35 miles south of Mesquite, Nevada. The town is located near the north end of Lake Mead. |
