I am looking for info on my grandfather and grandmother. I know that they resided in Breckenridge, Caldwell county. Their property was next to the Breckenridge school house. My grandmother's name was Currin or Curran (Hudgens), Myra. I know that both are buried in a graveyard very close to Breckenridge. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I found a yellowed newspaper article titled "That Braymer Killing". "A bill was not found against C. E. O'Neal, city marshall of Braymer, for shooting Robert Hays, so says the Bee of Brayer. Is it possible that Caldwell county will so fail to try a man, an officer, who shoots down an unarmed Ray county boy?" We think Robert Hays may have been my gggrandfather as there is also a note saying my ggrandmother was raised by her mother after her father was killed by a county sheriff. If anyone has any further info on this, would appreciate it. Thanks.

Looking for Caldwell county McLallens. According to my ggrandfather's Bible, most of my McLallen ancestors from at least the 1850's to the 1920's were born and raised in Caldwell county. At some point during the 1920's, a large portion of the family apparently packed up and moved to Colorado. I am seeking anyone who has done genealogical research on McLallens in Caldwell county, especially my ggrandmother, Charles F. McLallen. Thanks.

7/17/1998Norma AdamsNorma Adams I found a picture in my Mom's collection, of her freshman year class picture,1925-26, at Kingston High School. It must be a picture of the entire school, because there are close to 50 in the picture. On the back are the names of the students, plus the superintendant and principal for that year.

Would anyone have any use for these names? I'm going to try to post the picture on my web page as soon as my daughter comes to visit. (I'm not quite computer literate yet).

My Mom's family lived in Caldwell Co. for a number of years and left there about the end of 1926. Her name was Pauling Gentry and her Dad was James A. Gentry.

7/17/1998Sandra DeaSandra Dea I am trying to find info on William Riley Brookshire, Jr. I only have an approximate birth date using the censuses. I have William listed in Caldwell Co in 1870 roll # M593-763. He married Elizabeth ? (census shows Isabel) I feel this was a misinterpretation of Elizabeth as she is listed in 3 other censuses. His children are as follows, Martha, Samuel Asa, James, Ed, Parthena, Thomas, Annie, Joseph , Nancy and John B William was born abt 1824. His children were born from 1847 to 1867.Anything would be more than appreciated.

8/15/1998Charles OttosenCharles Ottosen Looking for information on the McKinnie and Esteb families who lived in Kingston, Caldwell Co. in the 1860's to 1880's. Cora and Rowe (sisters) McKinnie (parents were Jacob and Rowe McKinnie) were born in 1869 and 1871. John and Nancy Esteb (parents of Mrs. Rowe McKinnie) were both buried in Kingston in 1882 and 1869. Interested in both ancestors and descendants. Have information to share.

8/15/1998HMorganHMorgan I believe that my great-grandfather Addison S. Whitfore lived in Caldwell County, Missouri prior to the Civil War. He later moved to Memphis, Tennessee and there are records that he was in Memphis inthe 1870s. My grandfather, Edwin Everett Whitfore, was about 2 years old when they moved to Memphis. Since my grandfather was born in 1858, that indicates that they left Memphis around 1860. Addison's wife was Louise Ashley Whitford.

8/15/1998Bob WhittakerBob Whittaker I am looking for any information on Herbert Sliger born in Kingston, MO, Caldwell Co, 8/17/1907. Or any information on his family. He was suppose to be a harness maker, married Emily Etta Fleming from Mooreville, Mo. They moved to Colfax, IA. Thank you

8/15/1998Howard BowersHoward Bowers I am seeking the "Sally Bowers" Family Bible, which may have been in the possession of Mary Mildred Guffey DeYoung m. George DeYoung, no known children. Sarah (Sally) Cooper (c1778NC-c1838) who with six of their 16 children, Green Willis m. Elizabeth Holley, Giles m. Sarah (Sally) Tolliver, Sarah m. William Hawks, Nancy Jane m. Mortimer Bonepart Hale, Richard Haywood m. (1) Maria Louisa Thomas (2) Gnirah Guffey, and James Mitchell m. (1) Ellen Peabody (2) Julia Ann Michael, settled in Caldwell and Daviess Counties c1838.

8/15/1998Harlow FamilyHarlow Family I'm looking for information on the Harlow family in Caldwell County, specifically Richard and Elizabeth (Sult) Harlow. They had a farm in Section 22 about 2 miles south of Breckenridge (the 1876 atlas put him as "R. Horton" instead of R. Harlow). I have found them in the 1870 and 1880 censuses. Leander Harlow (L. Horton in the atlas) was nearby. They sold their land there in 1881. So I'm trying to find out (1) when they first arrived. The 1886 History of Caldwell & Livingston Counties says only that Richard Harlow was a founding member of the M. E. Church South at Breckenridge in about 1855-56, but I can't confirm they were in Caldwell County as early as that. Their first land purchase was in 1871. (2) What was the relationship between Leander and Richard Harlow? (I suspect Leander was Richard's son from an earlier marriage). (3) Did Richard and Elizabeth stay in Caldwell County or move on somewhere else? I couldn't locate them in the available cemetery records. I would appreciate it if you could look for them in the Master Index for Obituaries. Their children were Angeline (1854), Leona? (1858), Malinda (1863), George (1865), Samuel L. (1868), Montgomery (1870), Alfera? (1872), John G. (1874), and Laura (1878). Any information on the Harlow family would be appreciated. Thanks for your help. Your Caldwell County page is one of the better and most useful ones I've seen.

My maternal grandmother was Pauline Croy (birthname Boner) who grew up in Kingston in the early 20th century (she was born in 1909). Her father was Edgar Smith Boner, who I believe was the sheriff of Caldwell county and lived in a house connected to the jail in Kingston. He died in 1931 in Kingston, but I don't have much info about him. If anyone has any info, please e-mail me. Thanks.

Does anyone have anything on Mordecai Kincade who died in 1872 or his wife, Martha Jane? Their son, John A. Kincade was born in Chillicothe, MO., in 1870. Mordecai worked for the Missouri Pacific RR as a foreman. There was at least one brother named Ulysses S. Kincade who married Hulda ?. I can't seem to find Mordecai or Martha Jane anywhere, but I know that John A., and his first wife, Flora A. Dilly Kincade moved from Breckinridge, MO., in 1904 and settled in Arnett, OK. Thanks for your help.
