"HAMMOND HIGH -- Do you remember the Glee Club of the Hammond High School when they were active in 1914? The group formed on the grounds of the present location of Hammond School, with the Muller home, demolished to construct the presently-located, classroom building in view on the corner. From left, they were the Misses Ray Streck, Lollie Mae Carmicheal, Mittie Shannon, Hulda Stoessell, Cora Neelis, Mrs. Duncan, Glee Club teacher, the Misses Lee Hatcher, Mary Smallwood, Riette Bahm, Marjorie Green, Ruth Corbin (Mrs. C.C. Carter), Fleida Spencer, and Ruth Blomquist." (newspaper caption)
