From the Enterprise, May 20, 1940: Marion Fannaly Sr. was chosen king of the 5th Strawberry Festival at the Strawbery Stadium. His queen was Lou White of Ripley, TN, a strawberry buyer's wife. The festival was sponsored by the Young Men's Business Club of Hammond. The Strawberry Ball was held following the festivities at Oak Knoll Country Club.
