Grace Judge
Miss Grace Judge, aged 19 years, died at a hospital in Louisville on February 26 after a long illness with tuberculous. The body was brought to the home of her uncle, Gilbert Duncan, near town, and interment took place in the Carlisle cemetery on the 26th with short services at the grave conducted by Rev. Bela Metcalfe. Miss Judge is a daughter of Elmer Judge, of Illinois, formerly of this county.

Anna Elizabeth Judge Owings
Mrs. Anna Elizabeth Judge Owings, 62 years old, wife of James D. Owings, died suddenly at her home on Upper Jackstown road at the city limits about 3 o'clock Sunday morning. Mrs. Owings called to her husband, who summoned a physician, but she died before his arrival. Her death was believed due to a heart attack.
Mrs. Owings had not been ill. She was a native of the Moorefield section, but had resided with her husband in Carlisle for several years. She was a member of the Carlisle Christian Church.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Clay Wade, Carlisle, and Mrs. Frank Bishop, Bourbon County, and two grandsons.
Funeral services were held at the Christian Church Tuesday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. J. J. Whitehouse, and burial followed in the Carlisle Cemetery.

Martin Judge Is Claimed By Death
Martin Judge, 50, died last Thursday morning at St. Joseph's Hospital in Lexington where he had submitted to an emergency appendectomy the previous Saturday.
Mr. Judge became ill while at his duties at the Carlisle post office and was rushed to Lexington, where he submitted to an immediate operation. Complications which developed after the operation resulted in his condition becoming grave and little hope had been held for his recovery.
Born and reared in the Moorefield section of Nicholas county, he was the son of the late Marcus and Hester Pruitt Judge. For several years he was engaged in the plumbing business in Lexington and Carlisle, and when the new post office was constructed here several years ago he became custodian of the building.
He was master of Dougherty Lodge No. 65, F. & A.M. and was past commander of Nicholas Post No, 17, American Legion. He was a member of the Carlisle Baptist church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruth Booth Judge; a daughter, Miss Mary Louise Judge; a son, Charles Pruitt Judge; a brother Calvin Judge, Scottsburg, Ind.; a sister, Mrs. Russell Peterson, Bourbon county; a half-brother, Elmer Judge, Robinson, Ill., and a half-sister, Mrs. Frank VanArsdale, Frankfort, Ind.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Carlisle Baptist church with the pastor, Rev. Ira McMillen officiating. Burial was in the Carlisle cemetery. Committal services were held at the grave by Dougherty Lodge No. 65 F. and A. M. and Nicholas Post No 17 American Legion.
