Alton M. Moore

Services for Alton M. Moore, 66, husband of Mabel Anderson Moore, of 700 Timothy Drive, will be 11 a.m. Friday in Rogers Chapel with the Rev. Malcolm Lunceford and the Rev. Homer Brewer officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. He died 10 a.m. Wednesday at his residence following a long illness.

A native of Franklin County, he was born Oct. 5, 1910, to Mrs. Ethel Hulette Moore and the late Daniel M. Moore. He was a retired farmer and breeder of thoroughbred horses.

He served two terms as state representative from Franklin County and also served two terms as commissioner of pari-mutuels for the Kentucky State Racing Commission. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mable Anderson Moore, Frankfort; his mother, Mrs. Ethel Hulette Moore, Frankfort; one daughter, Mrs. Earl (Sue) O'Nan, Williamstown; one sister, Mrs. Irene Hulette, Frankfort, and five grandchildren.

Honorary bearers will be Everett Moore, Irving Rosenstein, Louis Payne, Charles Morris, Frank McClure, Charles F. Smith, William Cook, Thomas F. Anderson, E. G. Hulette and John Sergeant.

Bearers will be B. B. More, Robert Moore, Larry Moore, Hubert Moore, Bill Moore, Sr., and Crutcher Harrod.


Robert L. Vaughan

Robert L. Vaughan, 71, of Breckinridge Avenue, husband of Mrs. Sadie Johnson Vaughan, died unexpectedly Tuesday night in Daytona Beach, Fla., of an apparent heart attack. They had been vacationing there.

For 50 years, he had been a mechanic and gargeman. He had owned and operated Vaughan's garage on West second Street since 1940, retiring Dec. 1. The body will be brought to Rogers Funeral Home. Services will be announced later.


George W. Harrod

Services for George Washington Harrod, 82, of Route 4, Dry Ridge Road, husband of Mrs. Mary Florence Hackney Harrod, will be 2 p.m. Friday in the Harrod Bros. Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jack Berry officiating, assisted by the Rev. Charles Cox. Burial will be in the family lot, Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Bearers will be Ray Quire, Winfred Quire, Robert Leathers, Lawrence Hutcherson, James Wright and Robert Wright.

Masonic services will be 7:30 p.m. today in the Harrod Bros. Chapel.


William M. Brown

Joe True, Marion (Buddy) McKinney, Odell Hager, James F. Inman, Charles Ritchie and James Ritchie were bearers.
