ALSOBROOKand LINDSEY
My ggg-grandfather was:  James Wesley Alsobrook 1/28/1813-2/4/1902 m. Elizabeth Lindsey 1/28/1821-4/4/1898.  Their children were Rebecca, Martha, Thomas, Elizabeth, Josephine, Susan, J.W. (James Wesley?), Frances, Catherine, Joseph Harrison I (died infant), Joseph Harrison II.  The father of James Wesley Alsobrook was listed as Landon Alsobrook who had 3 brothers:  Amos, Acey and Louis-b1792.
Joseph Harrison Alsobrook II (7/4/1850-9/17/1927) was listed as born in Alabama, so I am assuming the siblings were born and the parents were from Alabama.  Joseph H. Alsobrook m. Eugenia E. Davis and lived in Calvert, TX, with their 7 children.
Any info or links would be appreciated.

Looking for any info. on Joshua A. (Allen, I believe) HAWKINS. According to 1880 TX (Robertson Co.) census, he as well as both parents, were born in Alabama.  This census lists him as age 45 and married to Mary E. Byrum, age 30, from North Carolina.  Their oldest child, James A., age 12, was born in TX - so Joshua was in TX at least by 1862.  I may have found him in TX as early as 1860 where on the census (Robertson Co., TX) there is a Joshua Hawkins, age 23 listed, from Alabama.  Would be very appreciative if anyone has any info. on Joshua's parents or where in Alabama he is from.  I do know, from a family Bible, that he had at least 3 brothers (William, John, & Tom) and 1 sister (Mary). Thanks in advance!

I'm trying to find out more about my grandparents. I think that they were both from Alabama, and the towns of Rome and Athens have been mentioned. My grandfather's name was Arizona Kennedy, born around 1880. My grandmother's name was Grace Truman Daniel. Whether the "Truman" was a middle name or if she was married before, I don't know. Born around the same time, I think. I'm sorry to offer so little information, but she died before I was born, and he was pretty well estranged from my dad by the time he died, which was in the 1960's (in Arizona) .Any information you can give me would be most appreciated.

I am searching for information on Albert POSEY.  He is my husband's great great grandfather.  I would like to find any of Albert siblings or parents.  I would like to trace him back as far a I can.  I am including the information that I have
gather in order to trace the lineage forward.  Any information you may provide for this POSEY family, will be greatly appreciated.

Albert POSEY was borned in South Carolina and appears in the 1850 Census in Benton county, (present day Calhoun) Alabama.  He was 28 years old and a farmer.  His wife was Claisy, she was 24, a housekeeper and borned in TN.

Albert and Claisy registered the following four children in the 1850 Alabama census:
James           6
Martha          4
William         2 (Disappears after this census)
John W.         1  (My husbands great great grandfather)

The family appears in the 1860 census in Nacogdoches County, Texas.  This census identifies 5 children:
James           16
Martha          14
John W          10 (My husbands great great grandfather)
Sarah A.          8
Justine           3  (She disappears after this census)

John Wesley POSEY  is the only child of Albert and Claisy that I have found.  He appears in the Sept. 1880 Census in Shelby Co., TX.   Page 7,  Line 13.   He was 32 years old, a farmer and was borned in Alabama.

John Wesley POSEY married Mary Malissa CHOATE in Center, TX about 1868.  They had eleven children.   John and Mary lived in Center from 1868 and moved to Montague County, Texas between 1890 and 1893.  They had ten children borned in Center and one borned in Montague:
1)      James Redmond borned May 29, 1869. Died April 7, 1949
        Married Sarah Jane CHOATE.
2)      Fannie A, borned Oct. 31, 1870 and married Perk DUPREE.
3)      Sharah Alline, borned Oct. 2, 1872. Died April 16, 1958.
        Married James Hathorne HOGELAR.
4)      Albert B., borned Aug. 24, 1875 and married Lida Lucille EDWARDS.
5)      John Woyinom, borned Oct. 7, 1877. Died Mar. 1958.
         Married Edith JOHNSON.
6)      Jesse Benton, borned Feb. 29, 1880. Died Nov. 26, 1940
Married Appie Melvina GEE., Dec. 8, 1901.
7)      Loucious Emery, borned Jan. 25, 1882. Died Oct. 4, 1918.
        Married Fannie Lee EVANS.
8)      Vestal, borned Jan. 20, 1884
9)      J.E. (Joe)  borned Oct. 27, 1886
10)     Katie Pearl, borned June 21, 1890.  Died Feb. 14, 1972.
Married Claude PAINE Oct. 5, 1914.
11)     Mitt, borned Aug. 23, 1893, in Wise Co. and married May LEWIS.
Mitt died Aug. 14, 1951. May (Flossie) death date is unknown.  Both Mitt and May  are buried in Big Springs, TX. (Mitt was my husbands grandfather)

John Wesley POSEY and Mary appear in the 1880 census in Shelby County, Texas and again in the 1900 census of Wise County, Texas.

John Wesley POSEY died July 4, 1919 and his wife Mary died August 6, 1937.  Both died in Montague Co. TX and buried at Oakhill Cemetery in Montague Co. near Stoneburg, Texas.

I belive that the following children of John Wesley POSEY remained in Shelby, County in the city of Center, when he took his wife and the youngest children to Montague Co..
James Raymond
Fannie A Posey Dupree
Sharah Alline Posey Hogelar
Albert B. Posey
John Woyinom Posey
