Shawano County, WI: OBITUARY of Mrs. Bertha Laedtke PAUTZ Source: Bonduel Times, Bonduel, Wisconsin Date: 26 June 1941 Transcribed by: Anne Taylor-Czaplewski Email: czaplewska@aol.com Mrs. Bertha Pautz Buried Yesterday Mrs. Bertha Pautz, daughter of Mr. And Mrs. August Laedtke, was born Sept. 4, 1859 in Pommern Germany and came to America with her parents in 1865 settling near Cedarburg where they lived for one year, when they moved to the town of Hartland. She was united in marriage with Carl Pautz Nov. 2, 1877 at St. Paul's Lutheran church. Mr. Pautz preceded her in death, passing away Oct 18, 1888, leaving his widow and five small children. Mrs. Pautz was known as a real pioneer mother in this vicinity, having raised her small family to man and womanhood. She was ill for the past three weeks and passed away Saturday afternoon about 6 p.m. while sleeping, at the home of her son William. Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Wendt funeral home and the body was taken to the residence Tuesday morning where services were held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. and at the St. Paul's Lutheran church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. W. J. Plischke officiating. She is survived by two daughters and three sons, one child having died in infancy. They are Minnie, Mrs. Herman Bohm, Angelica; Paulina, Mrs. Robert Bohm, Greeley, Colorado; Ernest, Green Valley; William, on the home farm; and Paul, Green Valley; 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Anna Neuman, town of Hartland; and one brother Carl Laedtke of Shiocton; The interment was in the church cemetery in Bonduel. Her grandsons served as pallbearers Edward, Alfred, Harold, and Paul Pautz, and Carl and Earhart Bohm.
