FRED BOENIG DEAD

For the past few months Fred Boenig has been gradually sinking away with that dreaded disease, consumption. The end came peacefully on Sunday evening at 8:00.

The deceased was born in Manitowoc 42 years and 8 mos. ago. In 1884 he was married to Miss Annette Hedges, who is left to mourn his departure, together with 7 children and other relatives. Mr. Boenig lived at Wittenberg a year, then lived at Belle Plaine for some time and for the past 6 or 7 years has lived on a farm south of town. He was an honored citizen and greatly liked by his neighbors. He was honest and industrious and had many friends who will regret to learn of his death.

The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the M.E. church. The Odd Fellows had charge of the services, he being a member of the order. The funeral was largely attended by friends, showing their respect to the departed.
