SHAWANO COUNTY JOURNAL
Friday, March 18, 1881

DIED- McLEOD - At Twin Lakes, Langlade county, Wis., March 9th, 1881, James McLeod aged 38 years, 5 months.

Last Thursday night James McLeod, known for a great many years to the lumbermen of this vicinity, died at his hotel of typhoid fever. The body was brought to Shawano Saturday and was buried Sunday, the Temple of Honor and Good Templars taking charge of the funeral rites. The obsequies were performed by both orders in accordance with their customs. The funeral sermon was preached in the Methodist church to a large number who had gathered to pay the last debt of humanity to the departed. The deceased leaves three young children, who are comfortably provided for so far as the necessaries of life are concerned.
