ASHTON, ELIZABETH HARDIDGE

Beneath this Stone is Laid the Body of Elizabeth the Wife of Col. Henry Ashton and Daughter of Cap. William Hardidge by Frances his Wife who for Piety to God Faithfullness Love and Obedience to her Husband tendernefs to her Children carefulness of her Family and Charity to the Poor was Equaled by few exceld by none.. She had by her Said Husband four children Frances, Elizabeth, Ann and Grace The two latter only Survived her after finishing her most Neighbourly and Christian life with joy She resigned her Soul to God (In Faith) on Monday the 25 of February in the Year of Our Lord 1722 and 43 Year of her age whose Death was lamented by all that Knew her

HENRY ASHTON Here lies ye Body of Col. Henry Ashton Born in Westmoreland County Son of John Aston Gent by Grace his Wife and 30th Day of July Anno 1671 He Marryed firft Elizabeth ye daughter of Wm Hardidge Gent By Frances his Wife by whome He had four Daughters Frances Elizabeth Ann & Grace the laft only Survived Him ye other three are Buryed near him His second wife was Mary Daughter of Rich d Watts Gent By Mary his wife wy whome he had one daughter and two Sons. Elizabeth Henry & John He was a good husband a tender Father a kind Neighbor a most compaffionate Master & an honeft Man the maner of his Death was Lingering Occafioned by a Cancer in his chest He died a penitent & a Sincere member of ye Church of England Ye 3rd day of Nov. 1731 in the 61st Year of his A G E

TURBERVILE, FRANCES

FRANCES TURBERVILE Underneath this Stone is Layd the Body of Frances Turbervile firft child of Mr. Henry Ashton by Eliz; his wife She was Married to George Turbervile Gentleman the 24 of April 1718 by whom she had one Child a daughter (Elizabeth) on the 12 of January 1719. She was dutiful Daughter a Faithful wife a tender Mother and with a Chrisftain Good will to all she refigned Her Soul to God in Faith the 21 of April 1720 in the 21 year of her age
