| Ruth Denman Lucy
Ruth Denman born in New York; married my uncle James Baxter Lucy.Ruth worked for the American Red Cross doing World War II,in California. She died in Bowling Green at her home the day after she buried Jamie. Jamie was the second child born to Vernon D. and Pearl M.Lucy;on August 14,1909 in Guniea.He graduated in 1931 from William and Mary.During World War II served in Army Air Corps,Major.He died off the coast of China while on a cruise.They lived most of their married life in New York City and had a home in Bowling Green.(pld) |
| Rixey Burnett Morton,the last child born in Stafford; to Martha Jones Morton and James Morton,ESQ of Stafford County.Died in Fredericksburg, a retired painter.(pld) |
| Thomas Cornet Rixey,
ESQ, son of Thomas and Mary Downing Rixey. His father died in 1853,brother of James W., Irene,Mary F.and Ellen D., who died in February 1854 after her dress caught fire.Grandson of Fannie and Rufus Downing. |
| Mary E. Downing Rixey, died at her home, near Bowling Green,Virginia. She was the daughter of Rufus Downing, ESQ who died in August 1844. Mrs.Rixey was a large land and slave owner in ante-bellum days, all of which were inherited from her father, and she delighted to entertain at " Rock Spring". The residence of this old country place was built sometime around the year 1765. She married Thomas C.Rixey of Culpeper,Va. The mother of Thomas C, Jr, ESQ; James W.; Irene who died in 1910; Mary F and Margaret who married William A.Wise of Culpeper.She was the sister of Frances A.Downing who married Dr.Andrew M.Glassell. |
