Augusta Co death Record--Line 1239,Hoffner,Margaret,white female,died 12/4/1857,age 7-3-0,born Rockingham Co,died near poorhouse,parents Geo.W and Elizabeth Hoffner.

From the 1/23/1858 issue of the Staunton Republican Vindicator, her death is recorded as follows:
"On the 4th of December 1857,Margaret Jane Sarah Catharine, daughter of George and Elizabeth Virginia Hefner, aged 7 years 2 months and 12 days.
She was a little girl of more than ordinary promise, and engaged, perhaps, too much, the love of her parents and friends.Though young, she had knowledge enough of the way of life to take away the fear of death, and sweetly fell asleep in Jesus.--- Her parents have now a tender interest in heaven they never had before.May the Lord grant to the bereaved family,an eternal re-union in the blest world above.
The Rockingham Register please copy."

The father of this child married into my wife's line after two other very  interesting marriages.  The son of his first marriage had 5 first names and the daughter 10 first names as you can see on the tombstone. (on)
