Portsmouth, April 22
My dear sister!
With all of my heart, I wish you a truly happy Easter!
Unfortunately I still have had no letters from home for four weeks!
The situation with America is scarcely [good], no!?
At the moment we cannot change it!
[Alternate: [But] at the moment we can’t do anything about it!]
[I] remain yours [sincerely], with brotherly greetings from your Hermann
