Roberson Cemetery

The graves of Lindsey and Elmina/Elmira Roberson as well as Leonard Roberson, a twin son of theirs is buried here. The most recent identified grave in the cemetery is about 1892. Lindsey Roberson moved to Erath County about 1870 was the father of 20 children. Elmira/Elmina and Leonard's original markers are still in the cemetery, but since they are made of sandstone and hand-scratched with a nail, they are rapidly losing readability. The Quarles family was next-door neighbors of the Robersons in the late 1800s and based on research, there is certainty they are related. The cemetery is on land once owned by Lindsey Roberson, so its possible that the 10-15 rock markers are all his kin. The cemetery is on private land located off US 377 in northern Erath County, just at the border of Hood County.
