On private property southeast of Illinois Bend

Died in Cooke County, Texas, April 26, 1869

The granite tombstone (store bought, according to the locals) was brought from Austin, TX, on a freight wagon that was pulled by a large team of dray horses. Though unkempt, it's existence still honors the Missourian & the 13 settlers who were massacred in an Indian Raid.
