The Butler Cemetery, partially annotated - Mercer Co. WV & Summers Co. WV Located in Mercer Co, WV, on Rt 18 near the Summers County line. (Submitter note: Gravestones are not necessarily listed in order. Tombstones are transcribed as closely as possible, so dates and even names may be incorrect. Because of human error & because tombstone inscriptions are known to be inaccurate much of the time, ALWAYS look for other evidence to support the information included here as well as in any other file submitted to the USGenWeb Project!!! When a stone lists a person's initials only, I have added the Christian name or maiden name in quotation marks when known. I have also added my closest relationship to the individual as I am related to many of them in more ways than one. As an explanation of this, the relationship listed is my relationship to the deceased, rather than vice versa. For example, if the listed individual is my grandfather, the nearest relationship listed here would describe me as his grandaughter, rather than describing him as my grandfather, which could cause confusion.
