Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark November 4, 1927
Joseph de Negri, aged 72, died at his home, 539 West Thirty-eighth Street, last
night at 8:50 o'clock. He was in the ship chandlery business in this city for a
number of years and was widely known. Two sons, Anthony and Nicholas de Negri;
four daughters, Mrs. A. Marsiglia, Mrs. Thomas Marsiglia, Miss Lina and Miss
Josephine de Negri; 10 grandchildren and three brothers, Angelo, Prospero and
Luige de Negri, survive him. Funeral arrangements had not been completed last
night.

Joseph de Negri - Funeral services for Mr. de Negri, whose death occurred
Thursday night, were conducted yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the
Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by the Rev. Leo J. Ryan, pastor. Pallbearers
were W.J. Calian, B.H. Kilpatrick, A. Agostini, Hugo Bernagozzi, S. Mastrangelo
and J.E. Smith. Music was rendered by the church choir and John P. Doran,
organist. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery
