County Court: November term 1835 ordered that Robert Jarman, Enoch H. James,

Andrew McKee, Willliam Thomas and Joseph M. Hoskins be and they are hereby

appointed commissioners to divide the real and personal estate of Owen L. Wood

deceased, between his lawful heirs and distributees, setting apart to each one

their [several?] share and portion, and that they report the same to next Court.

Pursuant to an order issued from the worshipful Court of Rutherford County at

November term 1835, to allot and lay off the real and personal estate of Owen L.

Wood decıd between his lawful heirs, we the undersigned Commissioners after

being sworn agreeable to an act of Assembly in that case made and provided; have

proceeded n the following manner; to wit. To lay off and divide the several

tracts of land belonging to said estate.



Lot No. 1. Begins at a Beech and Elm standing sixty eight poles north of the

south east corner of the original survey that Owen L. Wood decıd lived on,

running thence west ninety nine poles to a cedar & white ash, thence north one

hundred and twenty poles to a stake in Robert Jarmanıs east boundary line,

thence eastninety nine poles to a stake in a field, thence south one hundred and

twenty poles to the beginning. Containing seventy four acres this lot belongs to

the widow of said Own L. Wood deceased and valued at four hundred and seventy

six dollars.



Lot No. 2. Begins at a cedar & white ash it being the south west corner of Lot

No. 1 running thence south sixty eight poles to a cedar, thence east ninety

poles to a red oak, thence south thirty six poles to an ash standing on the

north bank of main Bradleys Creek, thence up the middle of said creek in all

ninety five poles to a beech standing on the north bank of said creek, thence

north twenty five degrees, west, one hundred twenty poles to an elm standing in

the aforesaid widowıs east boundary line, thence south with said line to her

beginning corner a buck and elm, thence west ninety nine poles to the beginning.

This lot contains eighty two acres and allotted to the heirs of Thomas L. Wood,

and valued at six hundred and twenty five dollars, out of which sum there is to

be paid over to the administrators of Owen L. Wood Decıd for defraying the legal

debts of said estate, one hundred and forty nine dollars.



Lot No. 3. Begins at two cedars standing on the north bank of Bradleys Creek,

running thence north twenty degrees west twenty eight poles to a chinquapin

white oak & sugartree, thence north sixty degrees west fifty six poles to a

walnut & Red oak, thence north [thirty?] two degrees west thirty nine poles to a

stake at the mouth of a Lane, thence north sixty two degrees east fifty poles to

an Elm standing on the west bank of a branch, thence north twenty poles to an

Ironwood & Dogwood thence west one hundred and eight poles to a stake the

widowıs north east corner, thence south with her East boundary line eighty four

poles to an elm, thence south twenty five degrees, East one hundred and twenty

poles to a beech standing on the north bank of said Creek, thence up the middle

of said Creek with its meanders to the beginning. Containing one hundred and one

acres, this lot is allotted to Claiborne H. Rhodes, and valued at six hundred

and forty five dollars, of which sum there is to be paid over to the

Administrators of said Owen L. Wood deceased, one hundred and sixty nine dollars

for defraying the legal debts of said estate.



Lot No. 4. Begins at a stake the north west corner of Lot. No. 3, it being the

north east corner of the widowıs [dowers? House?], running thence west with her

north boundary line twenty poles to a stake Nathan Harrisı south east corner,

thence north one hundred and twenty four poles to two dogwoods & hickory thence

east thirty poles to a red oak, thence north eighty five poles to the Wilson

County line, thence East with said line sixty seven poles to an elm in

Kilpatrickıs west boundary line thence south with his line one hundred and three

poles to a poplar his corner, thence East one hundred and three poles to a stake

thence south [sixty?] four poles to two whit oaks in John G. Murpheyıs north

boundary line, thence west fifty poles to a branch, thence south down the branch

seventy six poles to an ironwood & dogwood, thence west one hundred and eight

poles to the beginning. Containing one hundred and sixty acres, this lot was

allotted to William L. Anderson and valued at five hundred and sixty seven

dollars, out of which sum there is to be paid over to the Administrators of the

said Own L. Wood decıd the sum of ninety one dollars for defraying the legal

debts of said estate.



Lot 5.  Begins at William Andersonıs south west corner it being the south west

corner of Lot No. 4. &  running thence north one hundred and twenty four poles

to two dogwoods and Hickory, thence East thirty poles to a Red oak, thence north

Eighty Seven and one half poles to a white oak & Hickory Wendel Koonceıs South

East corner, thence west two hundred and fourteen poles, to a Hickory, thence

south eighty seven and one half poles to a stake on Robert Jarmanıs line, thence

East with said line one hundred and five poles to a Red oak Jarmanıs corner,

thence south with his line one hundred and twenty four poles to a stake the

north west corner of the Widow Woodsı dower, thence East with her line seventy

nine poles to the beginning. Also seven acres more which was granted to said

Woodıs Decıd by Grant No. 9818, Beginning at a Hickory the north west corner of

Grant No. 9875, granted to said Wood, running thence west twelve poles to a

sugartree, white oak and dogwood, thence south eighty seven and on half poles to

a sugartree, thence East twelve poles to Owen L. Woodıs south west corner,

thence north to the beginning the above lot contains one hundred & eighty two

acres this lot was allotted to Nathan Harris, and valued at five hundred and one

dollars, out of which sum there is to be paid over to the Administrator of Owen

L. Wood decıd the sum of twenty five dollars for defraying the legal debts of

said Woodıs estate.



Lot No. 6. Beginning on a Cedar standing on a ledge of rocks Robert Jarmanıs

corner, running thence north with Jarmanıs east boundary line seventy nine poles

to a white oak, thence east two hundred and fifty three poles to two white

ashes, thence south seventy nine poles to a Hickory & white oak it being the

south east corner of the original survey, thence west two hundred and fifty

three poles to the beginning. Containing one hundred and twenty five acres also

is added to this lot fifty three dollars it being the third part of the price of

a tract of land said Wood decıd purchased of Benja Clayton, registered July the

14th 1830 Book S. page 98 for 42 1/4 acres making the amount of this lot worth

four hundred and fifty three and one third dollars, this Lot is allotted to

Wendel Koonce, and the administrators of said Wood deceased has to pay over to

said Koonce, twenty two dollars 66 2/3 cents.



Lot No. 7. Beginning on a white oak a north west corner of Lot No. 6, running

north with Robert Jarmanıs East boundary line seventy nine poles to two Hickorys

& hornbeam, thence east two hundred and fifty three poles to a cedar & white

ash, thence south seventy nine poles to Wendel Koonceıs north east corner,

thence west with his line two hundred and fifty three poles to the beginning.

Containing one hundred and twenty acres, also is added to this lot fifty three

dollars 33 1/3 cents it being third part of the price of a tract of land said

Wood decıd purchased of Benjamin Clayton, Registered the 14th July 1830, in Book

S. page 198 for forty two and three fourth acres, making the amount of this Lot

worth four hundred and fifty three dollars 33 1/3 cents, this lot is allotted to

John H. Johnson and the Administrators of said Wood decıd has to pay over to

said Johnson twenty two dollars 66 2/3 cents.



Lot No. 8. Beginning on two Hickorys & Hornbeam it being the north west corner

of Lot No. 7, running thence north ninety two poles to a stake, thence East two

hundred and fifty three poles to a dogwood, thence south ninety two poles to

John H. Johnsonıs north east corner, thence west with his line two hundred and

fifty three poles to the beginning. Containing one hundred and forty five acres,

also added to this lot fifty three dollars 33 1/3 cents it being the third part

of the price of a tract of land said Woods Decıd purchased of Benjamin Clayton,

Registered the 4th of July 1830 in Book S. page 198 for forty two and three

fourth acres making the amount of this lot worth four hundred and fifty three

dollars 33 1/3 cents, this allotted to Benjamin Perryman and the administrators

of said Wood Decıd has to pay over to said Perryman twenty two dollars 66 2/3

cents. Given under our hands this 22nd of December 1835
