were in town this week. That Granville craft runs well, but Gainesboro
don't intend to be out done.

under the treatment of Dr. J. A. Pillow.

Mr. Frank Lee Anderson and sister mary of Union City, were visiting
friends and relatives at Gainesboro this week.

Hon. T. M. Gailbreath has been compelled to suspend an interesting
school at sugar creek on account of sickness. Hope he may soon recover.

Mr. A. N. Kirkpatrick left Tuesday for Texas. -----has been one of our
successful merchants and we predict a prosperous future in his new home.

Mrs. McCauley, widow of uncle Jack McCauley and sister of Geor. M. Ray
dec'd has been afflected with paralysis, but is some better.

Mat Anderson, eldest son of Jas. A. Anderson, has been prostrated with
flux more than two weeks, but is now recovering.

Mrs. Armistead, wife of C. B. Armistead of Nashville, died on 23rd of

TOBACCO TAX
Calvin Jackson, of 1st ------dist this county was tried Saturday at this
place by U. S. Court ------and bound over to Federal Court on a charge
of selling manufactured tobacco without license. U. S. Dept marshal
