Located in Baileyton, at exit 38 of Interstate 81 in Greene County, Tennessee. To reach the church/cemetery, go north from
the Interstate on Route 172 .8 miles, then west or left on Horton Highway about .3 miles on right. The church was organized
in 1830 and the building, actually in use now, was built in 1858. There is a county historic designation plaque on the structure.
This spring, 2004 reading was done in honor of Ralph Rye Fink who was buried there in 2001. We referred to a 1996 reading made
by Delores Alexander Doty of Kingsport, TN found in the T .Elmer Cox History & Genealogy Library in Greeneville, TN. Although
the rows were not straight, she did a great job of organizing them. We used the same row designations. The rows in the old section,
nearest the church, are numbered starting with "1". Spaces are not numbered but the markers are numbered starting from the left, or
south, to right. The rows in the newer section, beyond the intersecting drive on the west, are designated with letters, "A" and so on.
Statements in parentheses are not found on the tombstones but observations by the reader. When a marker from the 1996 reading could not
be found we kept the original information and noted such.
Note: Included are a few persons who were on cemetery burial records, thoughtfully supplied by Mr. Charles C. Hawkins, Sr. of Bailieton,
for whom no marker was transcribed. Their "Location" is noted as "***".
