Daniel Hollinger, aged 35 years, of near Dallastown, York county, was driving a
span of horses harnessed to a Dayton wagon, Saturday evening, when he was killed
in a runaway incident. The pole dropped, stopping the wagon so suddenly that
Hollinger was hurled out, and his skull crushed by striking a rock. Neighbors
saw the runaway accident and hurried to his assistance, but he died several
hours after being carried into a house. He is survived by a wife and six
children, the eldest being only 8 years old.
