FEBRUARY COURT IN SESSION

During the First Week a Number of Civil Cases have been Disposed of - Murder 
Trial to Come up During Latter Part of the Week

  The regular session of February court convened on Monday afternoon with Hon. 
Joseph M. Woods, President Judge and Associate Judges W. H. Benson and Harris 
Richardson on the bench.
  The constables of the various districts were sworn to their respective 
returns.
  The grand jury was sworn and given special instructions by the President.  
Judge, T. Wilday Black, of Huntingdon, was appointed foreman of the grand 
jury.
  Elias Fair, of Huntingdon, was appointed constable for the grand jury and J. 
D. Galloway, of Jackson township, and Clem Speck, of Juniata township were 
appointed constables for the petit juries.
  Report of Thos. F. Bailey, Esq., auditor appointed to make distribution of 
the balance in the hands of W. R. Wilson, administrator of the estate of Ellen 
Farrel, late of the borough of Huntingdon, deceased, confirmed nisi.
  John L. Rohland, appointed guardian, of William Franklin Morningstar, of the 
borough of Huntingdon.
  In re libel in divorce, Clara E. Turner, vs. Thomas Turner.  Report of J. F. 
Shock, master recommending a decree of divorce, files.
  William Speck appointed supervisor of the township of Walker.
  In re application of Joseph Brooks for letters of administration on the 
estate of his son, John Brooks, absent for seven years and presumed to be 
dead.  Notice of publication of decree of court authorizing the issuing of 
said letters and affidavit filed by leave of court.
  In the matter of the petition for rule on A. J. Miller, administrator of 
Margaret Miller, late of Lincoln township, deceased, to show cause why he 
should not be removed.  Rule awarded.
  Return of sale of real estate of Geo. B. Cox, late of Warriorsmark township, 
deceased, to C. C. Mong.  Confirmed nisi.
  Sale of certain real estate of John X. Lutz, late of Shirley township, to 
Milton Shields.  Confirmed nisi.
  Sale of certain real estate of George P. Miller, late of Shirley township, 
deceased, to Allen S. Welch.  Confirmed nisi.
  In re estate of Samuel Hatfield, late of the borough of Alexandria, 
deceased.  Benjamin R. Hatfield and John Hatfield, trustees, discharged on 
their own petition, and the Union Trust Company of Pittsburg, Pa., appointed 
trustee in their place and stead.
  In re American Car and Foundry Co., vs. Alexandria Water Company, owner, and 
Wm. M. Powell Co., contractors, Sci. Fa., sur mechanics lien.  Petition for 
the amendment of the record to include the contractor.  Amendment allowed.  
Bill sealed for defendants.
  In re sheriff's sale of the real estate of Chas. W. Claney, of Tell 
township.  Bond in interpleader filed and approved.
  Rule on County Commissioners to show cause why they should not pay the costs 
in case of Commonwealth vs. John Mapes.  Answer of Commissioners also files.
  Sale of the real estate of John Cox, late of Miller township, deceased, 
situate in the borough of Huntingdon, sold to N. Elizabeth Cox.  Confirmed 
nisi.
  In re partition of the real estate of James A. Cook, late of Tod township, 
deceased.  Return of rule on the heirs and sale of real estate awarded, and 
Lydia K. Cook appointed trustee to sell.
  In re petition of John Huston, committee of Minnie O. Neff of Porter 
township, for an order to sell real estate.  Sale awarded and bond approved.
  Sale of real estate of J. W. Henry, late of West township, deceased, 
continued. 
  In repartition of the real estate of Geo. Whittaker, late of Porter 
township, deceased.  Return of rule on the heirs.  Real estate decreed to 
Elizabeth W. Hamor at the sum of $2400.
  J. L. Rupert appointed inspector of election for the Third ward at 
Huntingdon.
  In re libel in divorce, Geo. W. Fry vs. Malinda A. Fry.  Petition for 
alimony.  Rule awarded and answer of respondent filed.
  In re libel in divorce, Bertha Hoover vs. George M. Hoover, W. H. Trude 
appointed master.
  In re libel in divorce.  Annie Smith vs. Elijah Smith.  Subpoena awarded.
  In re Hezekiah Staller vs. Minnie A. Staller.  Libel in divorce.  Subpoena 
awarded.
  In re libel in divorce, Sadie Walls vs. A. H. Walls.  Case continued.
  Citation awarded against Frank Scott, guardian of John Scott, to file an 
account.
  Sale of real estate of Charlotte Beaver, late of Hopewell township, 
deceased.  Confirmed nisi.
