____________________________________________________________

A photocopy of this original document came down to me from John
Caldwell's family papers. John Caldwell lived in Fairfield Township,
Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and although the orders are addressed
to "Major Caldwell, Ligonier" it is apparent that many of the names in
the list are of Fairfield origin. There also appear to be many names
from neighboring Ligonier Township.

[note: in the lists below, several of the men have ages listed next to
their names; I have used the format "name, age" where in the original it
was arranged in table format. Additionally, spelling has been preserved
as per the original document. Where words were indistinct, asterisks are
given either to replace a word or to show that the word is unclear.]
