  KATHERINE DENNIS WELCH
  
    Katherine Dennis Welch, 74, a resident of Allen, Tex., died Monday,
  March 3, 1997.
    Mrs. Welch was born Jan. 24, 1923, in McComb, Miss., to the parents
  of the late Josephine Case Dennis and Oscar Newton Dennis.  She
  graduated from Holtville High School in Alabama and went to work in
  nearby Montgomery, where she met her beloved husband of 53 years,
  Master Sgt. Joel J. Welch, formerly of Friedens.
    Katherine was a very loving, dedicated wife and homemaker and
  mother of four children.  She enjoyed traveling with her husband and
  attending the reunions of former World War II veterans.  She will be
  greatly missed by her loved ones.
    She is survived by her husband, Joel J. Welch, Allen, Tex.; four
  children: Maureen Coats, Wedowee, Ala.; Michael Welch, Shreveport,
  La.; Karen Kirkpatrick, Mobile, Ala.; and Edward Welch, Allen, Tex. 
  She is also survived by one sister, Dorothy Dennis of Dallas, Tex.;
  10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and
  nephews.
    Family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel,
  Prattville, Ala., today (Thursday, March 6).  Funeral services will
  be held at the chapel Friday, March 7, with Minister John Lane
  officiating.  Burial will follow at Prattville Memorial Gardens, with
  Prattville Memorial Chapel directing.
