The following resolution was passed.
Resolved, That Daniel Deal, President and S. C. Voute Secretary of the Board
of Trustees of “The First Reformed Dutch Church of the City & Vicinity of
Philad’a”. be and they are hereby authorized and empowered to attach the
common and corporate seal of the said “The First Reformed Dutch Church of the
City & Vicinity of Philadelphia” to a Deed of Conveyance from John Jay Smith
and others, Trustees of, “The Laurel Hill Cemetery Company” to the said
Trustees of the “First Reformed Dutch Church of the City & Vicinity of
Philadelphia” for a certain lot, called Section No. 13 in the said “Laurel
Hill Cemetery” purchased by the said Trustees in pursuance of a certain
Resolution passed at an adjourned Congregational Meeting of the said “The
First Reformed Dutch Church of the City & Vicinity of Philadelphia” held on
the 31st day of July AD 1854. And also that they the said Daniel Deal and S.
C. Voute be and they are hereby authorized and empowered to sign their names
to the said Deed of Conveyance as President and secretary aforesaid in
attestation of the **** execution and delivery thereof.
Additional Comments:
The church burial grounds were located between the south side of Sassafrass
(Race)St. and the north side of Cherry St. extending between Schuykill 7th
and Schuykill 8th,todays 16th and 15th streets.
