JENNE LYTLE CROSSLAND

Miss Jenne Lytle Crossland, who for several years lived in Connellsville
and who has relatives in various part of Fayette and Westmoreland
county, died yesterday morning at her home at Brunswick, Me, a victim of
the epidemic of typhoid fever which swept that place and which three
weeks ago claimed the life of her father, J. Irwin Crossland. She had
been ill for six weeks. Miss Crossland lived for seven years in
Connellsville with her uncle and aunt, Mr. & Mrs. Harry T. Crossland of
the West Side and enjoyed a wide acquaintance here. She was a life-long
member of the Methodist Episcopal church and taught in the Sunday
school. She was an officer of the Epworth League and an honorary member
of the Outlook club of this city. Miss Crossland was born in Missouri
and spent her early life there. After her stay in this city, she
returned to her native state. That was about four years ago. She is
survived by her mother, Mrs. Mollie Stoner Crossland, and two sisters,
Mrs. Harry Kirkpatrick of St. Louis and Mrs. Arthur Elliott of Mendon,
Mo. There are numerous relatives here, at Mount Pleasant and
Scottdale. Miss Crossland enjoyed a reputation as a musician. She was
a teacher of violin and was proficient at the piano and as a vocalist.
The funeral was held today.
