CHARLOTTE MARIE VAUGHN 

  Charlotte Marie Vaughn, 79, formerly of Pennsylvania House, Tyrone, 
died at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007, at Valley View Home, 
Altoona.
  Born Sept. 6, 1927, in Tyrone Forge, she was a daughter of the late 
Mark and Kathryn (Kipe) Hatch. She was united in marriage to Sam 
Weidle, Richard Sayers and John S. Baird, all of whom preceded her in 
death (Mr. Baird on April 17, 1974). A former husband, Clyde Vaughn, 
survives in Clarksville, Tenn.
  Mrs. Vaughn is also survived by a daughter and son, Geraldine 
Beschler and husband, Sam; and John W. Baird and wife, Sandy, all of 
Tyrone; and eight grandchildren, Brenda Fogelman and husband, Tim, Port 
Matilda; Lisa Kirkpatrick and husband, Tim, Tyrone; Donna Angelo and 
husband, Lorne, Tyrone; Heather Nicole Rupert, Petersburg; Jacob Lee 
Baird, Tyrone; and Jessica Ann, Jeremy Stevenn and Shelby Richard 
Flasher.
  She is also survived by three sisters, Leona Waite, Arizona; Caroline 
Snyder, Shippensburg; and Geraldine Kocher and husband, Melvin, 
Graysville.
  She was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Lucas William Baird, 
March 16, 1977; two sisters, Fayelda Zimmerman; and Janet Hatch, in 
infancy; and four brothers, Raymond, Clarence, Edward and Elwood Hatch.
  Mrs. Vaughn attended the Lower Spruce Creek Presbyterian Church.
  She worked in Huntingdon first as an aide at the former Norris 
Nursing Home and then at the Arrow Shirt Factory as a seamstress. She 
later went to work in the environmental services department at J.C. 
Blair Memorial Hospital from Feb. 10, 1969, until her retirement Sept. 
26, 1980.
  Most of her life, Mrs. Vaughn resided in Petersburg. She moved to 
Pennsylvania House, Tyrone, in 2000 and then to Greentree Village in 
2002 and to Valley View Home, Altoona, in December 2003.
  She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and traveling.
  Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, at the Cutright 
Funeral Homes, with the Rev. Randy Willis officiating. Interment was 
made at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 19, in the Franklinville Cemetery, Spruce 
Creek.
