ELMER E. PARKER

  Elmer E. Parker, 83, of Tipton Rd., P.O. Box 243, Tipton died 
unexpectedly Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006 at the Altoona Regional Health 
System - Altoona Hospital Campus E.R.
  He was born Sept. 18, 1923 in Tyrone, a son of Robert E. and Nancy V. 
(Kling) Parker.
  He was married July 22, 1950 in Tyrone, to Doris Mae Johnson who died 
Dec. 26, 2001.
  He is survived by a daughter Trudy Kirkpatrick and her husband Donald 
R., Jr. and a son Toby Lee Parker both of Tipton; a family friend, 
Bonnie (Chronister) Taylor; grandchildren: Kristie Weaver (Robert) of 
Tyrone, Jason Kirkpatrick of Roy, UT, Renee Chronister (Damian), Fort 
Hood, TX and Jessica Parker, Hagerstown, MD; great grandchildren: 
Kelsey Sipes of Sparks, MD, Jordan Parker Kirkpatrick of Las Vegas, NV 
and Emma Mae Chronister of Fort Hood, TX and a sister, Arvilla "Dolly" 
Woodring of Centre Hall, PA.
  He was preceded in death by a sister Mary Jane Clites and brothers 
William B. Parker and Robert M. Parker.
  He was a graduate of Tyrone High School in 1942 and a former member 
of the Hookies Fire Co., the Tyrone VFW and the Tipton Firehall Co.
  He served as a S/SGT. in the U.S. Army Anti-Tank Div. 342 Reg., 86 
Division in Europe and the Philippines during WW II.
  He retired in April of 1986 from Westvaco Corp., Tyrone after 44 
years service.
  There will be no public viewing.
  A memorial service and Flag presentation will be held Monday at the 
convenience of the family, with Rev. Peggy J. Bonsell officiating. 
Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.
  Contributions in his memory may be made to the Tipton Firehall Co., 
P.O. Box 71, Tipton, PA 16684.
