Abstractor's notes:
    Spellings are retained as interpreted from the original documents.
Readers are advised to remember that in old handwritten records the
letterforms for "J" and "I" are virtually interchangable, as are, often,
"S" and "L" (and sometimes "J.") When used as initials, with no surrounding
matter as an interpretive clue, some letterforms are indistinguishable.
    Grantee and grantor places of residence are all in Bergen County,
NJ, except where otherwise specified.
    Underlined names and/or numbers indicate a transcription as shown
in the original recording of the document (i.e., not a typograpohical error
in this transcription) that appears to conflict with other data in
conveyance, or with known history.
    Names following the description of conveyed property usually refer
to the owners of boundin, or nearby, land.
    It has been my general observation (with possible exceptions) that
the grantor (party of first part) information usually includes the name of
a wife, if there was one (this can be a means of identification); the
grantee (party of second part) data does not usually include the name of a
wife, even when one is known to have existed.

part of a lot of land which was lawfully seized and possessed by John
Codmus in his lifetime. Beginning at a Road dividing the Small Lots and big
lots at the SW corner of land of Abraham Codmus. Bounded by a lot of land

    Quit claim deed from Peter Cooper of Kinderkamack for $1,843, to
Garret Cooper and Thomas Cooper, certain lots of land beginning near the
Hackensack River at lands of Albert Voorhease. Other bounds include lands
of John Lozier, of John Boskerk, of John Gunter, containing 43 acres, 20
perches.
    Also a lot of woodland beginning at the road that leads to
Parhamus. Other bounds: lot of John Lozier, Boskerck's lands; containing 2
acres, 1 rod, 10 perches.
    Also another lot of woodland lying at Kinderkamack, beginning at

now lives in the Township and County aforesaid, beginning westernmost
corner Abraham Quackenbush's land, post on S side of Publick Road that
leads from Comp Gough to Hoppers Town between the dwelling houses of the

Division of New Jersey. Beginning at corner of tract returned 26 Dec 1800

stone heap about one chain from the Old Dam of the Bloomingdale Furnace.
Boundaries: tract of land surveyed for Guilliam Bartolf. Being same tract
as conveyed to said Silas Condict by return dated 27 Aug 1798, recorded in

    Hendricus Kuyper, James Board, and Garret Lydecker, Commissioners

acres more or less sold at public vendue, said Abraham Bartolf being
highest bidder. All that certain Messuage, Tenement House, and tract in
Bergen County, beginning at the Hackensack River and N from land of said
Abraham Bartolf. Boudaries: orchard of Hendrick Banta; Tien Neck Road;
David Lozier's land; W by Hackensack River; S by Hendrick Banta; E Tien
Neck Road; N Derick Banta. Land confiscated in term of 6 January 1779 in
Couirt of Common PLeas held at Pompton in and for the said County of
