Lawrence Wheeler died
December 6, 1906

    The funeral service of Lawrence
Wheeler, whose death occurred Thursday
afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, will be held at
the residence, in west Broadway, Sunday
afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Gaiser, of the
Broadway Presbyterian church, will con-
duct the service and the interment will be
in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. The service will
be in charge of the Masonic Lodge.
    Lawrence Wheeler was 43 years of
age October 9th. He was the only son of
the late Henry G. Wheeler & Mary B.
Wheeler. After securing a good public
school education he served his community
as deputy circuit clerk, deputy treasurer
and deputy recorder, and became one of
the best posted men on office affairs the
county has ever had. 15 years ago he em-
barked in the general merchandise busi-
ness at Hazleton. He was vice-president of
the Hazleton Bank, and a director of the
Gibson Co. Fair for 20 years. He retired re-
cently on account of his health.
    Lawrence Wheeler was united in
marriage to Miss Flora Massey, daughter
of the late John B. Massey, November 11,
1897. To this union 2 children were born,
one a ten year old son, together with the
bereaved wife, survive.
    The deceased was a member of the
Knights of Pythias, Masons, Odd Fellows,
Ben Hur and Modern Woodmen. He was a
member of the Broadway Presbyterian
church.
    "Lon" Wheeler was one of the best
known residents of the county & there
were none who had more friends. To the
wife, mother and son, who feel deepest
that bereavement, the sympathy of every-
one is tendered.
