Know all men by these presents that I, Lewis B. Pugh, Administrator of Bryan Kilpatrick, 
deceased, after giving due notice, proceeded on the 7th of July 1849, to expose to public sale a 
certain negro girl belonging to the estate of Bryan Kilpatrick, deceased, on a credit of six months 
in obedience of an order of court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions at Spring Term 1849, made at the 
instance of Lewis B. Pugh, Administrator petitioner, when and where Levi Dawson became 
purchaser at the price of four hundred & fifteen dollars 75/100 whereupon the said Levi Dawson 
secured the payment of the purchase money, according to the terms of sale. Now therefore 
know ye that for and in consideration of the said sum of four hundred and fifteen 75/100 dollars, 
I the said Administrator as aforesaid have granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents 
do grant, bargain and sell unto the said Levi Dawson the said negro girl Vina to have and to 
hold to him, the said Dawson, his executors, administrators, assigns forever; and I have further 
covenanted and by these presents do covenant to and with the said Dawson, his executors, 
administrators, and assigns to warrant and forever defend the title hereby conveyed from the 
lawful claim of any person or persons as far forth as my office and duty as Administrator require, 
and no further. In testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this the 7th of July 1849.

February Term 1853. Then this deed from L.B.Pugh to Levi Dawson was acknowledged in open 
court by said Pugh as his act & deed. Let it be registered.
