A Methodist church and a school were formerly located on the site. The church was merged when Matthews Methodist Church was formed in 1877. The cemetery was surveyed in July, 1971. I surveyed in May, 1999. Information in [parenthesis] is from the 1971 survey and indicates markers that were not found in 1999. The condition is fair to good. There are many unmarked graves and graves marked with plain markers, slate and field stones throughout the cemetery, and some broken markers. Shad J.
