BIBLE OF JOHN B. KILPATRICK

A typed copy found in the Collection of William Murphy, Joyner Library, Manuscript 
Division, East Carolina University, Greenville, NC. The records were submitted to Bill 
by Stan Little. In addition to the actual records, there are notes written by Mrs. Alton 
Chapman in 1985 and those notes will be found under the Bible entries with a ().

John B. Kilpatrick was a son of Bryan and Elizabeth Burney Kilpatrick of Pitt County.  
His two story home, still in good repair, stands on the South Side of Secondary Road 
1919, 0.7 mile East of the junction with Secondary Road 1753, near St. Johns, Pitt 
County.  This Bible, printed in 1848 by the American Bible Society of New York, was 
owned in 1985 by Mr. Alton Slade Chapman.

John B. Kilpatrick & Hollon E. Pridgen were married by the Rev. Gideon Allen February 
8, 1866

John B. Kilpatrick & Frances E. Rhem were married by the Rev. Augustus M. Flythe 
Nov. 7, 1871
