Silas Greene. Will. dated 2 July 1823.Perry Co. Ms. Probate 19 Jan 1827.   I, 
Silas Greene,of the State of Mississippi and the County of Perry, 
Planter....  -to my son John Green and my wife Charity Greene all my household 
furniture....durning my wife Charity Greene's life...To my son John Greene and 
the other half to be divided among my other three 
children                      -to my son William Greene one negro boy called 
Peter and my large Bible               -to my daughter Sally Taylor one negro 
boy called Orange            -to my nephew William Matthews one bed and 
furniture.....             -to Lemuel Burke Lasiter, son of Rebbeca Lasiter, 
one bed and furniture and two cows and calves, should the said Lemuel Burke 
Lasiter die without increase  then the above named property and stock to 
devolve back as part of my property             -to  my there children William 
Greene, Sally Taylor, and Lydia Haile(sic)the other half of my hogs        -
all my land in North Carolina be sold and after paying the debts due from the 
Estate of William Greene deceased to the heirs of Penelope Biggs deceased... 
the balance to be devided among my four children John Greene, William Greene, 
Sally Taylor and Lydia Haile.           -John Greene, David Reese and Seth 
Granburg, joint Executors 2 July 1823   Witness:  John F. Mapp, William 
Thompson, Edwin S.Carroway              You do swear that this instrument of 
writing contains the true last will and testament of the within named Silas 
Greene deceased as far as you know....  19 Jan 1827    (signed) David Reese G. 
H. Holliman, R.O.C., Perry County                By Abner Carter, Esq., Judge 
of probate in and for the County and State aforesaid...the said Silas 
Greene...that John F. Mapp and Willliam Thompson, together with ... signed 
their names... (Signed) Edwin S. Carroway           Sworn to before me this 
19th January 1827

State of Mississippi
County of Perry         I, R. Willoughby, Clerk of the Probate Court hereby 
certify that the foregoing three pages contains a true and perfect Transcript 
of the Original last Will and Testament of Silas Greene late of the said 
County deceased together with the proofs of the same, as full and completely 
as the Same is of record and on file in my Said Office.
In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and the seal of Said  Court 
at my office in Augusta the 24th day of September A.D. One Thousand Eight 
Hundred and Fifty        R. Willoughby, Clerk
