Location:   North of Canton, Ms about five miles, on the old road that is 
just west of Highway 51. Madison County, Miss., T 10 N, R 2 E, Section 36 

This little Fenced-in cemetery is in what was the front yard of the "Old 
Sneed Place". Although many members of the family were once buried there, 
only a few markers remain.

My Grandparents are buried in this cemetery, and I have done research on it 
for many years, the records that I have are Two different family bibles and 
visiting this cemetery many times, after the Sneeds sold the home place it 
was purchased by Mr. Carl Murphy's father, whose address is 402 WAY RD CANTON, 
MS 39046-9441.  Mr Carl Murphy also purchased the old Walker Place, along with 
the Foys ----Frederick J. Walker

Cemetery is full, Slave cemetery outside of fence. 

Richard Alxander Sneed BORN August 25, 1845 He was a private in the civil 
war.  There are many stories that he was a general - not true, later moved 
to OK to become secretary of state, and was Commander and chief of the 
"Confederate Veterans of America".  I have no knowledge of him being buried 
in this cemetery, I am sure there are many others buried in this Cemetery.
