Harold William Strickland, 79, died February 2, 2010 in Ocean Springs; born in 
Baton Rouge, LA. Preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Clifford and 
Audrey Rowcliff Strickland and two brothers, T. C. Strickland and Dr. Sidney 
(Jack) Strickland. Harold will be cremated and his ashes scattered over the 
river he loved so much.

LCDR Donald R. Graham USN Ret., 80, of Ocean Springs, MS, died February 3, 
2010; born in Mitchellville, Iowa in 1929, son of Benner and Leona Beck 
Graham. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy in December 1947 and retired as a Lt 
Commander in 1970. Preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Benner 
Eugene Graham and Norman Davis.

Centreville, MS, passed away February 6, 2010, in Ocean Springs. He joined the 
army and served his country for 20 years. During his time in the army he was a 
Bronze Star recipient and he was also recognized with the Meritorious Service 
Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense 
Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, South West Asia Service Medal with 3 bronze 
service stars, Army Service Ribbon, NCO Professional Development Ribbon 
(with\\num 3), and the Over Seas Ribbon. Preceded in death by his father, 
George Edwards, Sr. and mother-in-law, Fleida White-Norris. Services: First

1919, in Oak Grove, LA., and was the second born and first girl of 13 children 
to Lillian and Robert Luther Corbin. She was a member of the First Baptist

Byron Anthony Joiner, 43, of Moss Point, MS, died February 10, 2010, born in 
Homerville, GA. 

Mary Margaret Williams, died February 10, 2010. Mary Margaret was the only 
child of Gentry K. and Lena Mae Capps. She was born on July 23, 1915 in 
Gulfport, MS. Her mother, father and Aunt Margaret owned the Rayner Hotel in 
Gulfport, MS. For most of her early years, the hotel was her home. Mary 
Margaret was wed to Thomas Leroy Williams, of Carrolton County, MS, on April 
21, 1934. Mr. Williams preceded his wife in death in 1986. Their marriage was 
blessed with three children. Mary Margaret was a member of First Presbyterian 
Church, Pascagoula, MS all of her adult life. She was a charter member of the 
Pascagoula Anola Club and served Beach Elementary School as an active PTA 
member during her children's years at this local landmark school attended by 
three of her great-grandchildren today. Visitation at First Presbyterian 
Church of Pascagoula, Rev. Clint Regen will officiate.

Anna Graham Tynes Pursley died at her home in Diamondhead, MS, on Feb. 11. 
2010. She was born on Jan. 9, 1933, and was retired from the Singing River 
Hospital System in Pascagoula, MS, where she served as Director of Social 
Services. Peceded in death by her parents, Bud and Susan Graham; her first 
husband, John Tynes and her second husband, Gordon Pursley.

Spurgeon Joseph Lachaussee, 80, of Ruleville, MS, formerly of Pascagoula, died 
February 12, 2010 in Greenwood, MS. Spurgeon was born June 3, 1929 in Erath, 
LA. His family moved to Pascagoula in the early 1930's. He graduated from 
Pascagoula High School in 1948 and was a member of the Pascagoula Panther 
State Champion football team in 1947. On November 26, 1949, he married Faith 
Burnsed. Preceded in death by his wife Faith; his parents, Jules and Olphida 
Menard Lachaussee; and a sister, Laura Mae Lachaussee Dupont.

Production. She was a member of the Berean Bible Study Group in Mobile, AL.

the 70's and was member of Grand Bay Church of God. Preceded in death by her

Ms. Holly Leigh Ann Benkowich, 21, of Moss Point, Jackson County, MS, passed 
away February 17, 2010. Ms. Benkowich was born on December 11, 1988. She is 
survived by her beloved daughter, Pylot Benkowich, whom Holly loved very much 
and talked about all the time. She was always showing Pylot's pictures to all 
her friends; Mother, Tracy Benkowich; three siblings, Brandon Benkowich, David 
Porter and Susan Benkowich; grandmother, Judy Benkowich, and many other family 
members, and her wonderful, caring, devoted friends. Rest in peace Holly, love 
your family and friends. Visitation will be held February 22, 2010, Monday, at 
Bethal Hill Baptist Church in Latimer, MS. Funeral services will also be held 
from the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Richard (Ricco) D. Bradshaw, passed away on February 17, 2010 in Pascagoula, 
MS. He was born in Jackson, MS. Preceded in death by his parents, Brad and 
Margie Bradshaw; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Colvin; his 
paternal grandparents, Featherston and Elenor Ward Bradshaw, his uncles, 
George Bradshaw, Dick Colvin and Bobby Colvin. He had a long career in the 
music business. He moved to Nashville, Tennessee in the mid '80s to learn the 
art of recording. He became an assistant engineer at the very prestigious 
Creative Recording Studios where he worked with some of Nashville's biggest 
artists. In 1989 he was an engineer on the Grammy winning album in the 
children's field, The Rock A Bye Collection. He then moved back to Pascagoula 
to take care of his parents and opened his own recording studio, Legend 
Recording Studio, where he had a very successful run until 2005. He was a 
voting member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. Ricco 
Bradshaw will always be remembered for his good nature, love for others and of 
course the music.

Jean B. Catchot, 80, of Pascagoula, MS passed away February 17, 2010 in 
Pascagoula; born September 5, 1929 in Louisville, MS to the late Robert Daniel 
and Virgie Henretta Bowman. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church in 
Pascagoula and a former member of First Baptist Church of Philadelphia, MS. 
Also preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers, Virginia Bowman 
Molpus, Louise Bowman Moss, Evelyn Bowman, Thomas Daniel Bowman, Robert Olyn

Shirley Rush Gautier, 60, of Pascagoula, passed away Feb. 18, 2010 in 
Pascagoula, MS. She was born in Morton, MS and has been a long time resident 
of Pascagoula. Shirley graduated in 1967 from Pascagoula High School. Mrs. 
Gautier was a teacher for 33 years at College Park Elementary in Gautier and 
Cherokee Elementary and Trent Lott in Pascagoula. She was of the Baptist 
Faith. Preceded in death by father, Thomas M. Rush; father-in-law, James 
Donovan Gautier, Jr.; brother-in-law, Travis Drury. Visitation will be at the

John Francis "Jack" McAndrew, 72, passed away at his home in Pascagoula, Feb. 
19, 2010; born April 4, 1937, in Dunellen, NJ. Preceded in death by his wife, 
Betty Snider McAndrew; a daughter, Lisa McAndrew; and his parents, John 
Francis McAndrew and Helen Zupko McAndrew Frey. He was a member of Sacred 
Heart Catholic Church where he had served as president of the Parish Council 
during construction of the present church. He was a volunteer with St. Vincent

Kenneth Rex Pittman, Jr., born in Fort Pierce, FL to Ken and Kathy Pittman. 
Kenny, passed away February 20, 2010, while awaiting a liver transplant and 
entered into eternal life. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Rex 
and Etoile Pittman of Pascagoula and Claxton and Almeda Teague of 
Childersburg, AL, also his aunt Sharon McCain and his uncle Larry Pittman. A 
memorial service was held on February 25 at Risen Savior Lutheran Church in 
Sun Lakes, Arizona.

Ena Beausoleil, born June 17, 1906, a longtime resident of Putnam,Connecticut, 
passed away in Gautier, MS on February 21, 2010 at the age of 103. She was a 
communicant of St. Mary's Church and was active in the Circle of Fun, Ladies 
of St. Anne, The League of Catholic Women and a past President and Secretary 
of the St. Jean de Baptiste Society. Preceded in death by her husband, 
Salvador, a sister, Germaine (Cartier), and her daughter, Jeanne (Rousseau).

John C. Sturgill, 72, of Ocean Springs, MS, died February 21, 2010 in Ocean 
Springs. He was a member of the Crossroads Church of the Nazarene and was the 
youngest of fifteen children. Preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and

Donald Richard Sebastian, 62, of Gautier, MS passed away at home February 22, 
2010. He was born in Pascagoula, MS. He was a member of the 1966 graduating

death by his parents, Richard H. ( Dick) Sebastian and Agnes Vaughan

Elma Hays King, 87, of Jackson County, MS passed away February 23, 2010. She 
was born June 2, 1922 in Lamar County MS and had been a long time resident of 
Pascagoula. Elma retired from the Pascagoula Police Dept. She was of the 
Baptist Faith attending Jackson Ave. Baptist Church and later First Baptist 
Church in Pascagoula. Preceded in death by her husband, C. M. King Sr.; 
father, mother, 3 sisters and 1 brother.

was born in Pascagoula, MS and has been a lifelong resident. Preceded in death 
by his mother, Barbara Faye Taylor; paternal grandparents, Murdock and 
Josephine Taylor; uncles, Willie Joe Jackson and Ronald Joseph 
Taylor; his fiancé's father, Coach Butch Ory. Funeral Service will follow in

Clinton Tony Almond, 76, a native of Jackson County, and a resident of Moss 
Point, MS, died February 24, 2010. Born in Moss Point to the late John J. and 
Agnes LeJune Almond. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Gautier, 
MS. Preceded in death by three sisters, JoAnn Burns, Dorothy Hantz, Sue 
Faggard; two sons, Jeffery White, Kenneth Almond; and a granddaughter McKenzie 
White. A funeral mass will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father 
Charles Nutter serving as Celebrant.

father, Edsel Coyt Gunlson Sprinter; her brother, Kenneth E. Gunter; and 
father-in-law, James O. Whittington. Graveside funeral services will be held

Robert Le'Baron Martin, born to Jessie and Lorraine Martin in Pascagoula, MS. 
Robert departed this life on Saturday, February 27, 2010 in Biloxi at the age 
of 48. He is preceded in death by his father, Jessie L. Martin of Biloxi; 
sister, Theresa A. Martin, and brother, Terrence L. Martin both of Pascagoula.

Mrs. Manda Katherine Jackson, 84, of Gautier, passed away February 27, 2010 in 
Gautier. She was born March 28, 1925 in Soso, MS. Mrs. Jackson was a homemaker 
and devoted mother to her loving family. She was preceded in death by her 
husband, Louis Jackson, her parents, Lee and Manda Pierce, her daughter, 
Monette Scott, and her granddaughter Bridgett Scott. She is survived by her 
loving children; Gail (Max) Stephenson of Houston, TX, Stoney (Linda) Jackson 
of Escatawpa, Rhondy Jackson of Pascagoula and Tyrone Jackson of Pascagoula. 
She is also survived by her grandchildren; Wendy Anasti, Kelly Crabb, Miricle 
Jackson, Dylon Wade Jackson, Shawnee Barnett, Sharon Carter, Shane Scott, and 
Shena Scott, and 8 great grandchildren. Visitation for Mrs. Jackson will be 
Monday March 1 from 6 until 9pm in the parlor of Heritage Funeral Home. 
Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 2, at 11am in the funeral home 
chapel with Rev. H.W. Parker officiating.

and one sister. There will be no service.

Mrs. Rose Hall Knight, passed away February 28, 2010, in Ocean Springs. Mrs. 
Knight was born in Vicksburg, MS on June 17, 1918. Mrs. Knight was preceded in 
death by her father, James Louis Hall, her mother, Annie Mae Hall Gill, 
sister, Kathryn Gill, brother, Chris Gill, daughter, Rose Marie Blue, 
son, "Butch" Knight and her husband, Marion Clifford Knight.
