      and Sarah Wells who was dau of Absalom Wells of Fr.Co.  See
      earlier.  James Hemby m 8 Dec 1915 in Franklin Co. MS. This date
      and connection is from family knowledge as Fr.Co. was not keeping a
      record of their marriages at this time.  Sarah was born 1800 in a
      camp on the Tombigbee River in AL while her parents were enroute to
      MS.  See Hemby (1987) by Ezell. After the War Hemby purchased a
      farm in Fr.Co.  MS.  He joined the Antioch Church, was deacon in
      1872, ordained 1872.  Died 28 Jan 1897.  He opera ted an ox-wagon
      line and as teenages, his sons drove the wagons and hauled cotton,
      etc.  from Meadville to Natchez, MS.  Two of Dennis Hemby's sons,
      Charlie and John P. Hemby, were Baptist preachers.  Lenorah Cain
      Hemby died one week before her son Charlie Hemby, both of yellow
      fever.  A published newspaper clipping at her death states:
      "daughter of Rev.  James Cain, a pioneer Baptist preacher in Fr.Co.

      she became ill with typhoid fever.  Her sister, May Seab took her
      to Natchez Sanitorium where she nursed her back to health.  Nora
      separated from her husband, went to Washington D.C.  to work. While
      there she and daughter caught flu. The dau died, Nora never fully
      recovered.  She moved to Tucson for health reasons where she died
      from bronichial pneumonia. Her body was shipped home for burial.
      Her will is recorded in Fr.Co., dated 5 Sep 1922, recorded 26 Apr
      1924, wit. by C.P.  Seab and Augustus W. Peale. Her estate went to
      her brother Willie Augustus Seab.

      mastoid trouble for which she eventually had to be operated. She
      was nurse at a cloth mill in Inman, S.C. where she pioneered many
      of the community health techniques used today. She made a
      profession of her work as a nurse.  Though I saw her very seldom, I
      was very impressed by her and she influenced my life very much.
      Shortly before she died, a nurse told me there was nothing wrong
      with May other than old age except she could not see, or hear. She
      had a very sharp mind.

      Jim Seab, son of August Seab died Tuesday April 18 at New Orleans.
      His remains were brought home and interment made in the old Hemby
      graveyard near Kirby with Masonic honors, the service being
