56 – Year Old Rayne Woman Dies From Shotgun Blast

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Gossen Funeral 
Home in Rayne for Mrs. Leonard Castille who was killed Thursday from 
an apparent self-inflicted shotgun blast in the heart, according, 
according to W.M. Morgan, Acadia Parish coroner.

At Home Mrs. Castille the former Zula Soileau aged 56,  910 Reynolds St. 
Rayne, died immediately after allegedly shooting herself in the heart 
with a 4-10 gauge shotgun on her back steps at 11:29 a.m. Thursday, 
according to coroner reports.

Interment will be held in the Arceneaux cemetery in Rayne.

Survivors include her husband, Leonard Castille; three sons, Percy Castille, 
Lurcey Castille, and Walter Castille, all of Rayne; five daughters, 
Mrs. Elton LeJeune, Mrs. Hilman Lyons, Mrs. Ivy Dugas and Victoria Castille, 
all of Rayne; and Mrs. Percy Moore of Vinton; one brother, Murphy Soileau, 
Rayne; four sisters, Mrs. Louis Credeur, of Duson, Mrs. Ellis Schexneider of 
Rayne; and Mrs. Louis Stelly, and Mrs. Oliver Mouton, both of Sulphur, 
and 16 grandchildren.

The Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of arrangements.
