St. Landry Clarion. (Opelousas, La.) 1890-1921, February 17, 1894, Image 3

BAGNERIS. - At the residence of her brother, Leonard Franquez, in Church Point,
Acadia parish, on Saturday, Feb. 10th, 1894, Mrs. Maria Bagneris, nee Franquez,
aged about 44 years.

Although not unexpected, the death of this estimable woman will be learned with
regret by a large number of friends and acquaintances in Opelousas. She
suffered for over two years; but, being an energetic person and possessed of an
unfailing courage, she bore bravely up under the terrrible (sic) burden of
disease, and took the bed only a couple of weeks before her death. She died in
the full possession of her senses after having received the last sacrament of
the Catholic church. Peace to her ashes.

Additional Comments:

NOTE: Maria Bagneris nee Franques is buried at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart
