The United States of America, To Whom All These Presents Shall Come Greeting,

Whereas there has been deposited in the GENERAL LAND OFFICE of the United 
States a certificate of the Registrar of the Land Office at New Orleans, 
Louisiana, whereby it appears that, pursuant to the Act of Congress approved 
20th of May 1862, "to secure homesteads to actual settlers, on the public 
domain", and the acts supplemental thereto, the claim of WILHELM ZENTER, has 
been established and duly consummated in conformity to law for the 
southwest corner of  Section 22, Township 7 South, Range 1 West, 155 and 96 
hundreths of an acre according to the Official Plat of the Survey of the Said 
Land returned to the GENERAL LAND OFFICE by the SURVEYOR GENERAL.

NOW KNOW YE, that there is therefore granted  by the UNITED STATES, unto the 
said WILHELM ZENTER the tract of land above described: TO HAVE AND TO HOLD, 
the said tract of land with the appurtenences thereof, unto the said, WILHELM 
ZENTER and to his heirs and assigns forever.

In Testimony Whereof, I, Rutherford B. Hayes, President of the United States 
of America have caused these letters to be made Patent, and the SEAL OF THE 
GENERAL LAND OFFICE to be hereunto affixed.

Given under my hand, at the city of Washington, the first day of November, in 
the year of our LORD, one thousand one hundred eighty, and of the Independance 
of the United States the one hundred fifth.

Acadia Parish was not formed until October of the year 1886 and this record 
was listed by BLM GLO Records as being in Acadia Parish in spite of parish 
histories that indicate the record of parish was actually St. Landry, 
Louisiana.
